Added flavor? Surely that can only mean herbs and spices?
Oh, how wrong I was. So, after wasting time looking for oregano, basil and thyme and finding numerous non-game words, I took a hint to get started, with BECHAMEL putting me on to the task of finding sauces.
Even though I now knew the task at hand this continued to be a really difficult game — mainly because the names of any other possible sauces suddenly vanished from my head, but also because every game word today was long and complicated.
So, yes it took me another hint to complete. Congratulations if you completed it without any.

Strands is the NYT’s not-so-new-any-more word game, following Wordle and Connections. It’s now a fully fledged member of the NYT’s games stable that has been running for a year and which can be played on the NYT Games site on desktop or mobile.
