Big update for students (and honestly, parents too).
The UAE has officially announced an early spring break for schools and universities across the country.
The decision was confirmed by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research… and it applies nationwide.
So when is the break?
Spring break will now run from Monday, March 9 until Sunday, March 22.
Classes and official working hours will resume on Monday, March 23. And yes, this applies to:
- Public schools
- Private schools
- Universities
- Academic staff
- Administrative staff
Basically, the entire education community.
Originally, spring break was scheduled from March 16 to March 29 under the unified academic calendar. But the new decision, approved by the Education, Human Development and Community Development Council, moves the break forward by a week.
This comes after distance learning was extended nationwide until Friday, March 6
Students will complete their remote learning this week before heading into the newly announced spring break.
Authorities have stressed that learning will continue in a safe and stable environment, with remote systems rolled out to ensure students stay on track academically. Officials have reiterated that the priority is keeping education consistent while ensuring the safety and wellbeing of students and staff across the UAE.
So for now…
Earlier break. Earlier reset. And classrooms back in action from March 23.
